LIZ BAZINI

 

Liz helps clients prioritize and “stay the course” to develop and concentrate on the messages and initiatives that effectively move the needle. She combines communications best practices to reach clients’ targets wherever they consume content. Thinking about the business as a whole, Liz conceives ideas beyond traditional PR to positively impact the bottom line.

Prior to founding Bazini Hopp, Liz was managing director at Connors Communications where she helped manage operations, developed new business, led the client service teams and marketed the company's web-based application, HitTail. Most notable programs included crisis management for Goodmail Systems, message development for VideoEgg (now SAY Media), consumer product launches for Vonage, and digital media initiatives for divisions of Microsoft and MTV Networks.

Before joining Connors in 2004, Liz served as director of marketing and communications for Canada’s leading French-language dating service. She led the company's advertising and promotional programs that resulted in increased revenues and the company’s acquisition by a national brand. Liz began her public relations career with Montreal-based Verrecchia Group Communications in 1998, garnering editorial coverage for tech companies in Canada and the U.S. 

Liz has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Marketing from Concordia University in Montreal, a certificate in International Business from American University, Washington, D.C. and is an alumnus of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Having always been community focused, Liz has held several leadership roles at HADASSAH and was formerly on the Board of Hadassah Foundation. Liz is also on the Executive Board of the PTA at her boys’ school. Hailing from Montreal, Liz now lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.

KAREN HOPP

 

Karen thinks like a journalist and understands what makes for a good story. She helps clients get beyond basic promotion of their products and services to participate in broader discussions as industry experts. Always working to establish her clients as valued resources for the media, Karen encourages an educational approach.

Prior to founding Bazini Hopp, Karen served as vice president in Cohn & Wolfe's New York Corporate/Technology practice where she was responsible for Dell's consumer products and worked on media relations for Nike, Darden Restaurants, CapGemini and Panasonic. With boutique agency Connors Communications she led the launch teams for technology companies including VideoEgg, RedRoller, Vonage and Goodmail Systems. With Euro RSCG Magnet she worked with IBM, JVC and MessageLabs (which was acquired by Symantec for $695MM in 2008). Her technology work began with Blanc & Otus San Francisco where she managed the agency's CEO Roundtable program and her account responsibilities included HP, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Identix, Fujitsu Software, Phoenix Technologies, Autodesk, Hotwire, InterTrust, iAmaze, eConnections and Resonate. 

Karen started her career with ABC in New York, first with ABC Sports' public relations department and then with ABC News as a production assistant. While in college, she worked for the assignment desks at Connecticut's local CBS and FOX affiliates. Karen graduated from the University of Connecticut as a double major in Journalism and Communications and is a devoted fan of UConn Huskies basketball. She serves on the Board of Directors for The First Tee of Connecticut and Kids In Crisis, and is Secretary for the Greenwich Country Club’s Board of Governors. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and two children.
