Drawing on close to 20 years of experience working with technology companies – from start-ups to established brands – Liz Bazini drives strategic thought leadership programs. She thrives on helping clients develop messages that resonate and effectively communicate their organizations’ value propositions to reach core audiences and stakeholders. Always keeping the big picture in the mind, she devises integrated communications plans that help positively impact business results, not just PR.
Prior to founding Bazini Hopp, Liz was managing director at Connors Communications where she helped manage operations, developed new business, led the client service teams and marketed the company's web-based application, HitTail. Most notable programs included crisis management for Goodmail Systems, message development for VideoEgg (now SAY Media), consumer product launches for Vonage, and digital media initiatives for divisions of Microsoft and MTV Networks. Before joining Connors in 2004, Liz served as director of marketing and communications for Canada’s leading French-language dating service. She led the company's advertising and promotional programs that resulted in increased revenues and the company’s acquisition by a national brand. Liz began her public relations career with Montreal-based Verrecchia Group Communications in 1998, garnering editorial coverage for tech companies in Canadian and U.S. publications.
Liz has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Marketing from Concordia University in Montreal and a certificate in International Business from American University, Washington, D.C. A passionate philanthropist and incredibly community focused, Liz has been volunteering for non-profit organizations since her early 20s. Notable positions include board member of Hadassah Foundation (2013-2015), Chair of Young Hadassah International from 2008-2011 and Co-President of the Montreal chapter of the Israel Cancer Research Fund in 2003. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and two sons.
Karen Hopp has nearly 20 years of media and PR experience. She understands what makes for a good story and helps clients get beyond basic promotion of their products and services to participate in broader discussions as industry experts.
Prior to founding Bazini Hopp, Karen served as vice president in Cohn & Wolfe's New York Corporate/Technology practice where she was responsible for Dell's consumer products and worked on media relations for Nike, Darden Restaurants, CapGemini and Panasonic. Karen was previously an account manager with boutique agency Connors Communications where she led the launch teams for technology companies including VideoEgg, RedRoller, Vonage and Goodmail Systems. While with Euro RSCG Magnet she worked with IBM, JVC and MessageLabs (which was acquired by Symantec for $695MM in 2008). With IBM Pervasive Computing, Karen created a campaign for the company's "smart home" and "smart car" initiatives that garnered national consumer broadcast and print coverage.
Karen began her technology work with Blanc & Otus San Francisco where she managed the agency's CEO Roundtable program and her account responsibilities included HP, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Identix, Fujitsu Software, Phoenix Technologies, Autodesk, Hotwire, InterTrust, iAmaze, eConnections and Resonate. Prior to joining Blanc & Otus, Karen worked for ABC in New York, first with ABC Sports' public relations department and then with ABC News as a production assistant. While in college, she worked for the assignment desks at Connecticut's local CBS and FOX affiliates. Karen graduated from the University of Connecticut as a double major in Journalism and Communications and is a devoted fan of UConn Huskies basketball. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and two children.
